Quakers (Society of Friends)-A RELIGION that BELIEVES that people can perceive the word of GOD in their SOUL. They believe that DIVINE revelation can be individualistic and immediate, and that every person is a vessel for the word of GOD. They BELIEVE that goodness exists in everyone, even though they recognize the presence of evil, and work to obliterate that as much as possible. See FRIENDS, SOCIETY OF.
Quantum Leap-A term in physics indicating the transition of an atomic or molecular system from one discrete energy level to another one. Or could indicate a gigantic leap from one level of understanding or knowledge to another level.
Quantum Mechanics/Theory-Small units called quanta, which are molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, matter, energy, energy dynamics, and their inter-relationships. There are properties of atoms, molecules and particle wave duality concepts in physics where apparently there is no way to describe these interactions adequately. Some SPIRITUAL authors have postulated that quantum mechanics can be manipulated by INTENTION to manifest material objects or to gain INSIGHT into ENLIGHTENMENT. Quest-To seek or to pursue an intentional pathway on a mission of SELF-DISCOVERY. This may not be a pathway that is fixed on a final, known goal, but the seeking is enriched by an ongoing act of self‑enlightenment. Usually this search results in being able to see things in a different way, aiding in ENLIGHTENMENT.
Quietude-Silent, still, tranquility, or peaceful thoughts to achieve inner balance.
Quintessence-The purest, most essential, concentrated example of something, especially of an immaterial thing.
